SUMMARY:Be Pro Be Proud SC Opening Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:DO YOU SUPPORT Careers in the Trades?\n\nWill you support us Thursday March 25?\n \n\n\n\nFor more than 50 years\, Home Builders Institute (HBI) has provided construction career training to men and women exiting the military\, at-risk youth\, high school students\, and adults looking for opportunities in the trades. Almost 8\,000 individuals enrolled in HBI's instruction programs in 2017\, and 86 percent of its graduates were placed in construction industry jobs. About 700 state and local HBI chapters offer curriculum development\, technical instruction\, and job placement in partnership with 21 Job Corps centers\, school districts\, and other organizations serving former inmates\, displaced workers\, and people trying to transition into new careers.\n\nEd Brady took the helm of the nonprofit organization in October 2018\, succeeding John Courson\, who headed HBI for seven years before retiring.\n\nBrady intends to continue expanding partnerships and programs and raising awareness of HBI as the go-to resource and teacher of skills for an industry grappling with a labor shortage.\n\nDuring 30 years operating a home building company in central Illinois\, he served as president of the Home Builders Association of Illinois\, director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago\, and was the 2016 chairman of the board at the National Association of Home Builders.\n\nWe have the pleasure of welcoming the Mike Rowe of the HBA to the Lowcountry for our 1st ever Trade Professionals Showcase featuring the Be Pro Be Proud Truck. Ed is coming to "kick off" our BIG weekend and we hope you will SHOW UP for the HBA and our industry at large!\n\n \n\nWhile personal attendance is encouraged to SHOW UP for Ed Brady\, I realize some may not be able to attend in person so I have created the following link:\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting\n\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/85897969558?pwd=eFdESkl6UDQ3U1JpUkdleExQdzRidz09\n\nMeeting ID: 858 9796 9558\n\nPasscode: 434111
